Research Assistant

Julia obtained an MSc in Social Cognition from UCL and has since worked as a Research Assistant at the Centre for Brain and Cognitive Development at Birkbeck on the study of early development of autism and ADHD. With research experience in neurodevelopment and social psychology, Julia has previously worked on a longitudinal and cross-cultural study of early empathy in Uganda, as well as projects exploring the evolutionary foundations of social behaviour in bonobos at Durham University. Her experience spans behavioural, electrophysiological, and psychophysiological techniques with infants and young children. She is particularly interested in improving inclusivity and representation within neuroimaging research and the advancement of mental health interventions for young people and neurodiverse populations. Julia is motivated by translating developmental findings into meaningful social impact.
