PhD Candidate

Alexandra is a PhD student exploring whether AI-adaptive sensory environments can support children's engagement and cognitive performance. Her research involves developing virtual reality learning environments that adapt in real time to physiological indicators of arousal. She holds a BSc in Neuroscience from UCL and an MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuropsychology from Birkbeck. Her previous research explored action planning and tool use in toddlers, using EEG, eye-tracking, motion tracking and behavioural observation. She is particularly interested in individual differences, and in designing learning spaces around each child's sensory needs rather than expecting them to adapt to spaces that don't meet them.
